It may mentioned here that Information and Broadcasting Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud recently claimed that Bangladesh has been enjoying greater press freedom than other countries of the world. The country's press needs to be more dutiful and responsible, Mahmud said. Dr Hasan Mahmud said that the Bangladesh government issued licenses to 44 televisions channels of them 33 are already now on air. Besides, there are also 200 newspapers and 3,000 web portals being operational from across the country, including the capital Dhaka.
With the objective of creating an investment-friendly environment and creating employment through the development and growth of high-tech industries in the country Bangladesh Government has decided to establish Hi-Tech Park in the country. Use of Bangladesh online facility Bangladesh Hi-Tech Park Authority has set up 28 (eighty) Hi-Tech Parks (HTP) / Software Technology Parks (STP) / IT Training and Incubation Centers across the country. The construction work of 4 (four) parks has already been completed and business activities are going on.
