, Nov 25, 2014 - Finance Minister AMA Muhith today
told the House that the country's women entrepreneurs are getting
maximum TK 50 lakh as loan at 10 percent interest from different banks
and financial institutions as part of the women economic empowerment.
"The Women Entrepreneur Dedicated Desk has also been set up at all bank-branches to ensure the financial assistance for the women entrepreneurs," he said while answering to a scripted question of Salma Islam of Dhaka-1 in the Jatiya Sangsad (JS).
The minister said the SME foundation, BISIC, business bodies, entrepreneurs development institutions and other stakeholders are jointly imparting training and arranging various workshops, seminars and exhibitions to create new markets for their products.
He mentioned that the present government has underscored the need for the development of women entrepreneurs saying that Bangladesh Bank is still conducting some programmes in this regard.
